1 Description American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Surgical unit specializing in wound, ostomy, and tracheostomy care, requiring an active IL RN license and Level 1 Trauma/Epic experience. Details Med/Surg surgical unit providing post-operative care for complex surgical patients Includes tracheostomy monitoring, wound vac management, and ostomy care Collaborates with general surgical residency and OMFS residency services EPIC charting experience required Day shift schedule, 7a-7p, 3 days per week, 36 hours weekly Weekend requirement of 6 shifts within a 6-week period Holiday coverage on a rotating basis Requirements Active Illinois RN license in good standing (temporary license accepted) BLS certification (American Heart Association) Minimum one year of relevant nursing experience ASN required, BSN preferred Level 1 Trauma experience required EPIC charting experience required Additional Information Provides comprehensive nursing care including patient assessment, care planning, and documentation Educates patients and families on wound, ostomy, and tracheostomy care Reports and addresses safety hazards and incidents Collaborates with surgical residency teams for coordinated patient care Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible RTO not to exceed 7 days within a 13-week contract Prior Carle Health contingent workers must complete a 6-month break in service if they exceeded 1 year of continuous assignment First-time travelers may be considered
