Key requirements and preferred skills:
Active Registered Nurse license in Illinois (No LPNs). Demonstrated previous experience working in a school nurse role is required. Proven ability to manage student health concerns including diabetes, g-tube feeds, and seizure protocols. Strong assessment, documentation, and communication skills. Ability to handle confidential information with discretion. Current CPR/AED certification. Submit updated resume and license/certification with your application.Main responsibilities and duties:
Deliver daily nursing care to elementary students, ensuring their safety and well-being during the school day. Administer medications, manage health plans, and provide emergency care as needed. Collaborate with parents, teachers, and administration to support student health and educational success. Conduct health screenings and ensure compliance with state health regulations. Maintain accurate health records and documentation in accordance with school policies. Act as a health resource for school staff and participate in the development of student care plans.
