2 Description American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a night shift position requiring 2 years of ICU experience and IN or compact RN licensure. Details Medical ICU setting with some surgical patients, mainly GI or carotid cases Very active 24/7 Cath Lab that admits directly into the ICU Patient ratio of 1:2 Night shift, 4x12 hours (19:00-07:30) Weekend requirement with varied/flexible scheduling Floating required to AAU and MS units, or to affiliate hospitals nearby No on-call responsibilities Uses Cerner charting system Requirements Active RN license (IN or Compact) required in hand prior to start Current certifications: ACLS and BLS required; NIHSS preferred Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required Cerner charting experience required Experience with interpretation and management of dysrhythmias Experience managing multi-system organ failure and multi-system organ dysfunction Experience with pre/post cardiac cath or intervention care Experience with IV insulin protocols and GI surgery patients Experience with chronic/acute renal failure care Skilled in arterial line, central line, and PICC line management Experience with blood product administration Experience with continuous IV sedation and titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips Skilled in BiPAP/CPAP management and care of ventilated patients Experience with
HFNC, ABG
interpretation, suctioning, and ventilator management Knowledge of infection prevention and isolation precautions/PPE use Nursing degree from a college or university accredited by ACEN or CCNE at time of graduation Two supervisor references required SSN and DOB required for consideration Additional Information Provide comprehensive critical care nursing to a heavy medical ICU population with some surgical cases Facility is a short-term acute care hospital with 174 staffed beds Scrub requirement: red top, black bottoms Free parking available Must work 2 of 3 major holidays Up to 5 days of non-holiday RTO can be auto-approved; additional time off requires facility approval First-time travelers are welcome to apply Local IN residents are not accepted for this position Former IU Health perm or PRN employees must wait 12 months before applying as a traveler Returning IU Health travelers who have accrued 12 months of travel employment must take a designated break to reset eligibility (3 months for out-of-state residents, 6 months for in-state residents)
