1 Description American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring 2 years of experience and IN or compact RN license. Details Short-term acute care hospital setting on the MS/Tele unit Adult/geriatric medical-surgical patient population Staffing ratio of 1:5/6 Night shift, 4x12 hour shifts from 17:00-5:30 Every other weekend required Floating required within the hospital or to a nearby affiliate hospital Cerner charting system used Requirements Active IN or compact RN license required in hand prior to start Current certifications required: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS Minimum 2 years of RN experience required (screened at 1.5 years) Cerner charting experience preferred Experience preferred with thoracentesis, COPD exacerbation, pneumonia, CVA, hypoxia, electrolyte imbalances, hypertension, small bowel obstruction, altered mental status, and renal failure Previous charge nurse experience preferred Skills needed include IV therapy, phlebotomy, central and peripheral line care, PICC line management, respiratory care (BiPAP/CPAP, chest tubes, HFNC, ABG interpretation), cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia management, telemetry, feeding tube care, and insulin administration Nursing degree from a university accredited by ACEN or CCNE at time of graduation required 2 supervisor references required SSN and DOB required for consideration Additional Information Provide med/surg and telemetry nursing care to an adult/geriatric patient population Must work 2 of 3 major holidays Up to 5 days of non-holiday RTO can be auto-approved; additional time off requires facility approval First-time travelers are welcome to apply Local IN residents are not accepted for this position Red scrub tops with black pants required Former IU Health perm or PRN employees must wait 12 months before applying as a traveler Travelers with 12 months of accrued travel employment within IU Health must take a consecutive break to reset eligibility: 3 months for out-of-state residents and 6 months for in-state residents Free parking available
