Job Description

Position Summary Under the direction of the Director of Human Resources, the Employee Health Nurse coordinates the employee occupational/workers comp program by developing protocols, reporting and record keeping. Assists with implementation of health and safety education programs in the workplace. Administers direct and indirect care to ill/injured employees and evaluates outcomes in an effort to provide a healthy, productive workforce. Job Responsibilities Obtains health histories and performs preplacement screenings. Reviews results of lab and radiology test in compliance with local, state and hospital-required screening/testing, conducts immunizations. Treats minor illnesses and accidents including follow-up care when required. Assists with the Family Medical Leave of Absence (FMLA), Short Term Disability (STD) and Hospital Medical Leave of Absence programs for hospital employees. Maintains the hospital
OSHA 300
log, calculates lost work days, summarizes annual totals and ensures posting required. Education/Experience Graduate of accredited nursing program with current Indiana Licensure, BS degree preferred. Minimum of 2-4 years of varied nursing experience, primary nursing care areas such as public or community health, industrial/occupational nursing/emergent care. Possesses well-developed assessment and organizational skills; sell starter; people orientated, ability to handle large amounts of paperwork; willingness to accept new job responsibilities.
