Schedule:
3×12 hours/week
Guaranteed Hours:
36 hours/week
Requirements:
Active Indiana RN license required to submit Minimum 2 years of RN experience Previous Emergency Room/ED experience required Must be comfortable working in a charge capacity
Required Certifications:
BLS
  • AHA ACLS
  • AHA PALS
  • AHA NIHSS
AHA Only Key Responsibilities:
Provide direct nursing care to patients in the Emergency Department. Perform comprehensive assessments and prioritize care based on patient acuity. Manage patients with chest pain, abdominal/pelvic pain, diabetes, hypertension, COPD, and minor injuries. Triage patients and assist with department flow after completing the required triage assessment. Work in a charge capacity while maintaining a patient assignment as needed. Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms. Titrate medications and manage cardiac drips according to physician orders and facility protocols. Perform IV starts, blood draws, medication administration, and other emergency nursing procedures. Monitor patients requiring respiratory support and collaborate with Respiratory Therapy. Assist with STEMI, cardiac, respiratory, trauma, and other emergency cases. Maintain accurate documentation in
MEDITECH
. Collaborate with physicians, technicians, paramedics, respiratory therapists, and other members of the healthcare team. Maintain patient safety and follow emergency department protocols. Float as required within the department, excluding the ER overflow unit.
