Prepares patients for endoscopy procedures, and monitors patients during and after procedures. Works with anesthesia specialists and physicians as part of a clinical team. Works in clinical settings, primarily specialized endoscopy clinics.

Job Description

Digestive Care Center is seeking a Registered Nurse to work in our Endoscopy Center. While working in the endoscopy center the nurse provides nursing care to patients during procedures and recovery through physician's orders and according with recognized nursing techniques and established policies and procedures. This position is full time, Monday through Friday, working 4 ten hours shifts. What You Need for this
Position:
Registered Nurse with license in active good standing. BLS Certification required within 6 months of hire. Maintains BLS Certification. ACLS Certification required or obtained within 6 months. Maintains current ACLS certification. Membership in local, state and national professional organizations encouraged.
What You Will Be Doing:
Collect patient history and medication reconciliation, obtain appropriate procedure consents and complete data entry. Obtain vital signs. Provide patient education and validate patient/family understanding of procedure and discharge instructions. Complete intra procedure patient assessment and promotes optimal patient environment. Document ongoing assessment of patient during procedure and recovery. Anticipate patient and physician needs. Demonstrate proficiency in all basic nursing skills, including ability to start I.V.s and medication administration. Demonstrates knowledge of endoscopic procedures. Accurately enters information in electronic medical record.
