Job Description
Job Responsibilities Obtain consent and patient history to formulate a plan of care as well as assess and conduct safety planning for victims and their families Collaborate with medical providers, victim advocates, law enforcement, Department of Child Services and other social service agencies to ensure optimal patient outcomes and enhancement of the patient experience Establish a compassionate environment by providing emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patients, friends, families, and coworkers Coordinate care by all agencies involved in assisting the sexual assault victim and coordinate referrals for appropriate medical and psychological follow-up as needed Assess, collect, and analyze comprehensive objective, subjective, psychosocial, and cultural data pertinent to patient condition Perform a complete physical and forensic examination for assessment for trauma with possible evidence collection when applicable Document detailed injuries with the support of photographic evidence as required Provide courtroom testimony related to the care and treatment provided. Other duties as assigned.
