Job Description

Job Overview As a Team Leader Registered Nurse (RN) in the Emergency Department at Deaconess Gibson, you'll provide hands-on clinical care while guiding and supporting the ED team through fast-paced, high-acuity situations. You'll help stabilize, treat, and coordinate care for patients of all ages, ensuring safe, efficient flow and strong communication during some of their most critical moments. In this leadership-focused role, you'll deliver direct patient care and oversee clinical operations during your shift — including staffing assignments, workflow coordination, mentoring team members, and ensuring patients and families receive clear education, support, and timely treatment. What You'll Do Lead and support ED staff during assigned shifts to maintain safe, efficient patient flow Deliver skilled, patient-centered care in a busy Emergency Department Respond rapidly to changes in patient condition using strong clinical judgment Coordinate and supervise nursing care across the ED team Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized plans of care Provide education and emotional support to patients and families Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to ensure timely, effective treatment Monitor documentation accuracy, quality, and safety metrics Assist with staffing, assignments, and workflow adjustments throughout the shift Required Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Indiana or compact state Minimum 2 years Emergency Department RN experience Prior leadership or charge experience in a clinical setting Preferred Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
