SUMMARY AND SPECIFICATIONS JOB SUMMARY
Under the direction of Day Surgery/PACU Clinical Leader, the Day Surgery/PACU Registered Nurse will provide proficient, age specific, professional nursing skills in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the nursing care for assigned patients in accordance with legal hospital practice and departmental policies and procedures, established standards of nursing care and practice, and as defined by the state of Indiana. Documents nursing care for post-operative patient population. Assesses patients for pain and maintains hemodynamic stability, neurological stability, and pain management. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a perioperative field. Duties will include administration of medications, performing prescribed treatments, managing medical equipment, assisting with patient ADLs (activities of daily living) including lifting, turning, and mobilizing patients.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Professional & Technical Skills Experience gained through an approved School of Nursing plus an appropriate period of hospital orientation to the assigned patient care area and to personnel. Education Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing. BSN or obtain within 6 years (current ASNs with MHP refer to SPP No. HR-18) License(s) or Certification(s) Must possess a current license as a Registered Nurse Other Skills or Requirements Call rotation weekdays/weekends Skilled to Care for Certain Age-Related Patient Groups (incumbents will be skilled in care of the following patient groups) All age groups
