Works under the supervision of a physician or other specialist, and serves as the primary point of care for patients in a hospital setting. May specialize in emergency room work, or treatment for a particular condition, or specialize in working with infants, the elderly or other patient groups. May work as an advanced practice specialists and prescribe medications in addition to offering specialty care.

JOB DETAILS
Travel Oncology Nurse assignments allow you to deliver specialized care to patients undergoing cancer treatment in advanced hospital settings. As a travel oncology nurse, you will administer chemotherapy, monitor complex symptoms, and support patients and families through challenging treatment journeys. You must have an active registered nurse (RN) license, a nursing degree from an accredited program, and current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Most facilities require at least 1 year of recent oncology experience, Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification, and familiarity with electronic medical record (EMR) systems. Oncology-specific certifications, such as Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN), may be preferred.
