We are hiring for a four-unit, 212-bed full-service care facility providing long-term care, memory care, short-term rehabilitation, and senior independent living services. We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our nursing team. Position Summary The Registered Nurse is responsible for delivering comprehensive nursing care to residents in accordance with professional nursing standards, state regulations, Veterans Administration guidelines, and facility policies. The RN ensures high-quality resident care, supervises nursing staff, and supports interdisciplinary collaboration to promote optimal health outcomes. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Administer medications and treatments in accordance with accepted nursing standards Perform comprehensive resident assessments; document findings and communicate changes in condition to physicians and appropriate parties Develop, implement, and update individualized care plans Provide safe, efficient personal and clinical care to residents Supervise and delegate tasks to nursing assistants and support staff Maintain accurate documentation, including medication records, nursing notes, transfer forms, and physician orders Transcribe and implement physician orders accurately and promptly Monitor and maintain controlled substances in accordance with policy Ensure compliance with infection control practices and safety protocols Respond to call lights and resident requests in a timely manner Uphold resident rights and maintain HIPAA compliance at all times Participate in shift reports and ensure continuity of care Coordinate and assist with medical appointments as needed Assist with staff orientation and training Support unit operations, including record maintenance and regulatory compliance Additional Responsibilities Provide 1:1 resident care when required Assist with resident activities and engagement programs Respond to emergency situations and facility codes Perform other related nursing duties as assigned Qualifications Active and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Indiana Current CPR certification (additional certifications as required by facility policy) Knowledge of nursing principles, medication administration, and clinical assessment Ability to recognize and respond appropriately to changes in resident condition Strong documentation and communication skills Ability to prioritize tasks and manage workload effectively Ability to supervise and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams Commitment to providing compassionate, veteran-centered care Work Environment & Physical Requirements Work is performed primarily within a nursing care unit Frequent standing, walking, bending, lifting, pushing, and pulling required Must be able to assist with lifting and transferring residents using proper equipment and techniques May be exposed to body fluids, cleaning agents, and residents with challenging behaviors Supervision The RN may assign and oversee the work of nursing assistants and reports directly to the Nursing Unit Manager.
