Job Description
HCA Healthcare is seeking an EMS Coordinator RN to strengthen coordination between emergency medical services and hospital teams. In this role, you will oversee EMS outreach, education, and protocols, ensuring seamless patient transitions from field to facility. The EMS Coordinator RN develops and delivers training for EMS providers, monitors quality metrics, and collaborates with emergency department leaders to improve response times and clinical outcomes. You will review cases, provide feedback, support compliance with regulatory standards, and promote evidence based practices. This position offers opportunities to lead initiatives that enhance patient care across the pre-hospital and acute care continuum. Responsibilities Coordinate clinical and operational collaboration between EMS providers and the hospital Develop and deliver education and training programs for EMS personnel Monitor EMS-related quality metrics and implement performance improvement initiatives Review EMS-to-ED transfers and provide feedback to enhance patient outcomes Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal EMS regulations and hospital policies Serve as a liaison between EMS agencies, emergency department leadership, and hospital administration Assist with protocol development and implementation for pre-hospital and ED care Maintain accurate documentation and reporting for EMS programs and initiatives Support community outreach and injury prevention or safety education efforts Participate in emergency preparedness planning and drills involving EMS Required Skills Emergency nursing Clinical assessment Care coordination EMS protocol knowledge Quality improvement Education and training delivery Data analysis and reporting Regulatory compliance Communication and collaboration Emergency preparedness planning
