Job Description

HCA Healthcare is seeking a dedicated RN Coordinator - Trauma Women's for our Healthcare & Medical Services department. In this role, you will coordinate trauma care for women, ensuring timely assessment, intervention, and continuity across the care continuum. Responsibilities include collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, supporting trauma protocols, educating patients and staff, monitoring outcomes, and promoting evidence-based practice. Responsibilities Provide direct trauma and women's health nursing care to patients during weekend day shifts Triage, assess, and monitor trauma patients, recognizing and responding to changes in condition Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized plans of care following trauma and women's health protocols Coordinate trauma activations and facilitate efficient patient flow through the emergency, surgical, and inpatient settings Administer medications, blood products, and therapies safely and accurately, following HCA Healthcare policies Ensure accurate, timely, and thorough documentation of assessments, interventions, and patient outcomes Collaborate with physicians, surgeons, anesthesia, emergency, ICU, OB/GYN, and ancillary teams to optimize care Serve as a clinical resource for staff regarding trauma and women's health standards of care Support trauma program quality initiatives, including data collection, audits, and performance improvement projects Participate in and occasionally lead staff education, skills training, and simulations related to trauma care Promote patient safety, infection prevention, and adherence to regulatory, accreditation, and hospital standards Educate and support patients and families on diagnosis, treatment plans, recovery, and discharge instructions Advocate for patient-centered care, respecting cultural, emotional, and psychosocial needs Assist in development and refinement of unit policies, procedures, and protocols related to trauma and women's services Participate in interdisciplinary rounds and effective handoff communication across care settings Required Skills Trauma nursing assessment and intervention Women's health and OB/GYN/perinatal nursing fundamentals Advanced clinical assessment and critical thinking Rapid triage and prioritization in high-acuity settings Intravenous (IV) therapy and medication administration Hemodynamic and cardiac monitoring interpretation Wound care and post-surgical care Care of patients with multi-system trauma Blood product administration and transfusion reaction management Electronic medical record (EMR) documentation Interdisciplinary communication and collaboration Patient and family education Crisis de-escalation and family support Time management and organizational skills Knowledge of trauma protocols and clinical pathways Basic leadership and coordination skills for weekend teams
