Job Description

Category Schools - RN Nurse Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding role supporting students as a Registered Nurse in a school-based special education environment. This contract position offers a unique opportunity to provide dedicated care for students with disabilities in a center-based classroom setting located near Olathe, KS. Stepping into this long-term leave assignment, you'll work three days a week, ensuring both continuity and balance to your schedule. Your day-to-day responsibilities will focus on facilitating the health and safety of students with special needs, collaborating closely with educators, and monitoring student well-being. Additionally, you may be called upon to accompany students on their bus or van rides to and from school, ensuring their medical needs are met throughout the journey.
Key Skills & Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science in Nursing required Active Registered Nurse (RN) license Strong communication, problem-solving, and advocacy skills Prior experience with children or within a special needs school setting is preferred, but not required Ability to work effectively and compassionately with students, families, and school staff
Primary Responsibilities:
Deliver direct health care and manage chronic conditions for assigned students with disabilities Administer medications and perform procedures according to healthcare plans Complete documentation of care and collaborate on Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) Provide health assessments, respond to medical emergencies, and maintain accurate records Support students' medical needs during transportation to and from school This position is ideal for compassionate, adaptable professionals who are enthusiastic about making a difference in the lives of children with special needs.
