Clinical Research Nurse Job Description This Clinical Research Nurse role supports a 40-hour-per-week asthma study in a fast-paced clinical research setting. The nurse conducts and coordinates a variety of study-related activities, including patient recruitment, screening, and follow-up, while ensuring accurate documentation and adherence to regulatory and ethical standards such as HIPAA and GCP. The position requires strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks related to clinical trials and electronic medical records. Responsibilities

+ Perform comprehensive chart reviews to identify potential participants and confirm eligibility for the asthma study.

+ Conduct phone screenings and pre-screening activities to evaluate and recruit patients for clinical trial participation.

+ Manage patient recruitment efforts for the clinical research study, including outreach, follow-up, and engagement activities.

+ Enter study-related data accurately and promptly into systems and other research databases.

+ Schedule study appointments and send appointment reminders to ensure participant adherence to visit schedules.

+ Verify data for completeness, accuracy, and consistency, and resolve data queries in collaboration with the research team.

+ Process media referrals by reviewing incoming inquiries, assessing potential eligibility, and coordinating next steps with interested participants.

+ Perform participant follow-up activities, including phone calls and other communications, to support retention and ongoing study compliance.

+ Prepare for study visits by organizing necessary documentation, supplies, and materials in accordance with protocol requirements.

+ Monitor and support e-diary compliance by guiding participants on proper use and reviewing entries for completeness and accuracy.

+ Provide lab kit support by ensuring proper preparation, handling, and tracking of laboratory kits used during study visits.

+ Assist with regulatory tasks related to the clinical trial, supporting documentation and processes that align with applicable regulations and guidelines.

+ Collaborate with the clinical research team to maintain high standards of patient care, safety, and confidentiality throughout the study. Essential Skills

+ Proven experience working as a Clinical Research Nurse in a clinical trial or research setting.

+ At least 1+ years of experience in patient recruitment for clinical research studies.

+ Minimum of 1+ years of experience working with electronic medical records (EMR).

+ Minimum of 1+ years of experience working with electronic data capture systems (EDC).

+ Demonstrated ability to perform chart reviews and interpret clinical information for research eligibility.

+ Strong skills in phone screening and pre-screening patients for clinical trials.

+ Experience with clinical trial processes, including study visit preparation and participant follow-up.

+ Training in HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality requirements.

+ Training in Good Clinical Practice (GCP) guidelines and clinical research standards.

+ High attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

+ Effective verbal and written communication skills for interacting with participants and research staff. Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Experience in clinical research nursing, including familiarity with asthma or respiratory studies.

+ Experience supporting data verification and query resolution in clinical trial databases.

+ Knowledge of patient recruitment strategies, including handling media referrals and outreach campaigns.

+ Ability to support e-diary compliance and participant education on electronic data capture tools.

+ Comfort working with regulatory documentation and processes related to clinical research. Work Environment The role operates during normal business hours in a fast-paced clinical research environment focused on an asthma study. Work involves frequent use of electronic medical record (EMR) systems, data entry tools, and e-diary technologies, requiring sustained attention to detail and accuracy. The setting emphasizes regulatory compliance, confidentiality, and collaboration with a research team, with a professional clinical attire appropriate for patient-facing and research activities. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Overland Park, KS. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
