What they do
A Registered Nurse provides medical care and treatment, educates patients about their conditions, and provides emotional support to patients and families. Works in hospitals, schools, clinics or community health centers. Works under the supervision of a physician or other specialist, and serves as the primary point of care for patients in a hospital setting. May specialize in emergency room work, or treatment for a particular condition, or specialize in working with infants, the elderly or other patient groups. May work as an advanced practice specialists and prescribe medications in addition to offering specialty care.

Overview:
Utilizes the nursing process to provide patient care. Maintains professional accountability for provision of patient care for the assigned patients. Evaluates the overall effectiveness of care provided by other direct care givers. Coordinates the patient care in conjunction with other departments. Maintains patient rights and confidentiality of patient information. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and mercy service standards.Department:
Cardiac Cath Lab Schedule:
Monday- Friday, 8 hours (day shift)
Call Requirements:
On call 12-15 days per month Includes approximately 2 weekends per month Required participation in STEMI and emergency call response (Callback timeframe of 30 mins)Position Details:

Education:
Graduate of an accredited registered professional nursing programLicensure:
Is personally responsible for obtaining, and maintaining, a current RN license within the hiring state and/or compact licensure in which nursing duties are performed and must meet all state board of nursing requirements.Physical requirements/demands:
- Position requires individuals to push, pull, and/or lift 50 pounds on a regular basis
- Position requires prolonged standing and walking each shift
- Position requires the ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties One or more of the certifications below may be required based on the position/unit hired to, or acquisition of certification within department required timeframe.
Certifications:
- Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association or successful completion of course within 30 days of hire.
Experience:
Preferred:
Cath lab, ICU, ED, or other critical care experience Consideration given to candidates with strong acute care experience and willingness to train. Why Mercy?
