Registered Nurses - Acute, ER, Long Term Care and Surgery
Job Description
ob Overview We are seeking Registered Nurses in our Acute, Long Term Care, Surgery and ER departments. Day and night shifts are available. Surgical RN's work M-F day shift and no holidays. We are seeking dedicated and highly skilled Registered Nurses to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of patient care, medical procedures, and healthcare documentation, with a passion for delivering exceptional nursing services. As a Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for assessing patient needs, administering treatments, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal health outcomes. This role offers an opportunity to work across diverse clinical settings, including acute care, long-term care, outpatient clinics, and specialized units. Responsibilities Conduct thorough patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and medical history reviews. Administer medications and treatments accurately following physician orders and established protocols. Provide patient education on health management, medication administration, and post-discharge care plans. Assist in diagnostic evaluations, specimen collection, and laboratory procedures to support clinical decision-making. Maintain strict adherence to infection control practices and aseptic techniques during all procedures. Monitor patients' conditions continuously, recognizing signs of acute pain or deterioration requiring immediate intervention. Collaborate with physicians, specialists (including ophthalmology, cardiology, or trauma medicine), and support staff to coordinate comprehensive care. Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain confidentiality of all patient records and information. Participate in discharge planning and case management activities to facilitate smooth transitions of care. Skills Proficiency in EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, or Athenahealth for accurate documentation. Strong knowledge of nursing practices across various specialties including critical care, emergency medicine, geriatrics, pediatrics, and behavioral health. Experience with advanced procedures such as IV infusion, suturing, catheterization (including Foley and central lines), tube feeding, and ventilator management. Familiarity with ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10) for accurate medical record documentation and billing processes. Ability to perform physical examinations and diagnostic evaluations confidently in diverse clinical environments. Skilled in medication administration techniques including injections and venipuncture while maintaining aseptic technique standards. Knowledge of infection control protocols and infectious disease care practices to prevent hospital-acquired infections. Excellent communication skills for effective patient education and interdisciplinary collaboration. Experience working with individuals with disabilities or those requiring memory care or hospice & palliative medicine services is highly desirable. Capable of managing multiple priorities in fast-paced settings such as ICU, trauma centers (Level I/II), or outpatient clinics while maintaining attention to detail.
