Weekend rotation required (every 3rd weekend) Position Overview A Critical Access facility in Kansas is seeking an experienced and adaptable Travel Registered Nurse (RN) for a hybrid Emergency Room and Med-Surg role. This position is ideal for a versatile nurse who thrives in small environments and is comfortable cross-covering multiple patient units based on daily census and facility needs.

Key Responsibilities Dual-Unit Coverage:

Manage patient care across both the Medical-Surgical unit and the Emergency Room.

Team Collaboration:

Divide inpatient loads collaboratively at the start of each shift. Share ER patient care with the team, balancing assignments based on individual strengths and facility flow.

Flexible Care Delivery:

Inpatient census typically averages 3-5 patients (ranging from 1 to 8). Staffing models vary between 2-3 nurses and 1 CNA per shift, meaning you may occasionally serve as the primary RN alongside an LPN and an aide.

On-Call Utilization:

Utilize a dedicated "crisis nurse" on call every night to assist during high-acuity surges or unexpected volume increases.

Job Requirements Experience:

Proven, recent experience in both Emergency Room (ER) and Medical-Surgical (Med-Surg) units. Both specialties must be clearly listed on your work history at the time of submission.

Certifications:

BLS (American Heart Association) ACLS (American Heart Association)

TNCC NRP

(AHA) is highly preferred . Must be active at submission or have a confirmed class scheduled prior to submission (proof of registration/receipt required).

EMR:

Experience with Cerner is preferred.

Health Compliance:

Flu declination is allowed, but requires mask-wearing during flu season.

Pay:

$57.00 - $62.00 per hour
