Job Description

Cardinal Hill Rehabilitation Hospital in Lexington, KY is seeking a Dialysis RN to provide safe, high-quality hemodialysis to medically complex rehab patients. As part of an interdisciplinary team, you'll assess patients, initiate and monitor treatments, manage vascular access, administer medications, and coordinate care to support functional recovery and independence. You'll educate patients and families, follow strict infection-control and safety standards, and document care in the EMR. Responsibilities Provide safe, effective hemodialysis treatments to inpatient rehabilitation patients Assess, monitor, and document patients' clinical status before, during, and after dialysis Manage and troubleshoot vascular access, including fistulas, grafts, and catheters Administer IV fluids, blood products, and medications per provider orders Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary rehab team to develop and adjust care plans Educate patients and families on dialysis, fluid management, and self-care strategies Maintain dialysis equipment and follow strict infection prevention and safety protocols Accurately document care and outcomes in the electronic medical record (EMR) Participate in quality improvement, competency training, and evidence-based practice initiatives Support hospital mission, policies, and a patient-centered, collaborative culture Required Skills Hemodialysis administration Vascular access management Patient assessment Care planning Electronic medical records (EMR) Infection control IV therapy and medication administration Patient and family education Interdisciplinary teamwork Clinical documentation
