The Clinical Services Division is currently seeking a compassionate and dedicated Clinic Registered Nurse. The Impact of This Role This is an essential position that works in an onsite or offsite clinic setting to independently deliver a broad range of quality public health nursing services, including complex case management services, essential for promoting and protecting the safety and health of the Northern Kentucky community while maintaining an appropriate level of confidentiality and a professional image. Covington, Florence, Newport, or Williamstown Usual Schedule:
Monday through Thursday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m,, with one "late" day until 6:00 p.m., and Friday 8:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. What You Will Do Essential functions of the job include, but are not limited to: Performs health assessments and screenings by interview and/or physical examination and develops plans for care to achieve expected outcome(s). Performs simple to complex routine and non-routine client services for a broad range of assigned program(s) in a clinic setting according to local and state policies and procedures, the Administrative Reference (AR), Clinical Services Guide (CSG) and WIC and Nutrition Manual. Provides one on one or group client education and counseling on issues based on plans for care and educates eligible parties about benefits of assigned programs. Makes referrals to community resources as needed and maintains communication with other disciplines in coordinating health care activities on and off-site. Documents services and activities using appropriate workflows. Provides assistance with community outreach activities, offsite clinics and community education programs as requested. Participates in the educational experiences of students. Provides case management activities, coordination, and implementation of designated public health service(s) or program(s) as assigned.What Qualifications You Need Minimum Qualifications:
Pre-Hire Education :
One of the following: Associate's degree or diploma from an accredited college, university, or school of nursing plus 1 year of full-time experience as an RN. BSN from an accredited college or university. Equivalent education as determined by licensing board recognized by the Kentucky Board of Nursing.Certification :
Must attain CPR certification within 6 months of appointment date and maintain throughout incumbency.License :
Must attain license to work as an RN in Kentucky prior to appointment date and maintain throughout incumbency.Other :
Must possess a valid, active driver's license and reliable transportation.Knowledge of:
Nursing theory, public health nursing, and standard public health nursing protocols. Principles and methods for teaching and instruction designed to affect behavior modification. Resources for assigned programs. Health department policies, procedures, technology, and equipment pertaining to assigned duties.Skills and Abilities to:
Combine technical proficiency in medical tasks with strong critical thinking and communication skills, empathy, and attention to detail. Use and generally maintain standard medical and nursing equipment, instruments, and supplies. Anticipate and solve problems and challenges. Draw sound conclusions.
