Job Description
Encompass Health Cardinal Hill Rehabilitation Hospital seeks a compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Healthcare & Medical Services team. In this inpatient rehabilitation setting, you'll deliver evidence-based, patient-centered care, coordinate interdisciplinary treatment plans, and support patients through recovery and functional improvement. You'll collaborate closely with therapists and physicians, prioritize safety and quality outcomes, and mentor support staff. Responsibilities Provide direct rehabilitative nursing care to patients recovering from illness, injury, or surgery Perform comprehensive nursing assessments and ongoing monitoring of patient status Administer medications, treatments, and therapies safely and in accordance with physician orders Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team Document all assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately in the electronic medical record Educate patients and families on diagnosis, rehabilitation goals, medications, and discharge plans Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and contribute to patient goal setting and progress reviews Maintain strict adherence to infection prevention, fall prevention, and other safety protocols Respond promptly to changes in patient condition, using sound clinical judgment and escalation when needed Support quality improvement initiatives, evidence-based practice, and ongoing professional development Required Skills Patient assessment and clinical judgment Medication administration and IV therapy Rehabilitation nursing care and discharge planning Wound care and skin integrity management Vital signs and patient monitoring Care planning and care coordination Electronic medical records (EMR) documentation Infection prevention and control Fall prevention and patient safety practices Patient and family education Interdisciplinary team collaboration Time management and workload prioritization Basic Life Support (BLS) Acute care or med-surg nursing skills
