5 Description American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring 2+ years of specialty experience and a KY or compact RN license. Details Med/Surg Tele unit within a hospital setting Patient ratios of 1:5 to 1:7 Uses Meditech EMR Night shift rotation of 3x12 and 4x12 hours (7:00 PM to 7:30 AM) on an 84 hours per two-week schedule Every other weekend required Floating required within scope of practice Blocked scheduling cannot be accommodated Requirements Active KY or compact RN license required at time of consideration 2+ years of current Med/Surg Tele experience required Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required Skilled in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management Experience with IV therapy, central/PICC line care, and blood product administration preferred Experience with respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP, chest tubes, and tracheostomy management preferred Two professional references required, including one Charge or higher and one supervisor reference completed within the last year Copy of certifications and driver's license matching permanent address required for consideration Additional Information Provide comprehensive nursing care to Med/Surg Tele patients, including cardiac, renal, neurological, and post-surgical populations Flu vaccine required with no declinations accepted; medical and religious exemptions considered case-by-case Up to 7 days of RTO may be considered if submitted upfront; no changes accepted once submitted Must work either a major or minor holiday for each holiday period Travelers must live within 75 miles of the facility and local candidates are not accepted Traveler pairs are accepted on a limited basis and will not be scheduled on the same shift or unit Previous travelers must take a minimum 6-month break after one year in the system before returning First-time travelers considered based on relevant Level IV trauma experience
