Job Description

Category Nursing - RN-Psych Job Type Contract Deliver exceptional behavioral health care as a Registered Nurse specializing in psychiatric services. In this role, you'll play a vital part in a multidisciplinary team, caring for individuals navigating mental health challenges. Your expertise in psychiatric nursing will support patients and families through both crisis situations and ongoing treatment, ensuring patient safety, dignity, and quality care throughout their stay.
Desired Qualifications:
Active and unrestricted RN license (required) Minimum of one year of experience as a Psychiatric RN or in a behavioral health setting Sound clinical assessment and crisis intervention skills Ability to manage challenging patient behaviors with empathy and professionalism Strong documentation abilities and familiarity with electronic medical records Excellent communication skills to collaborate with physicians, case managers, and support staff BLS certification required; additional psychiatric nursing certifications preferred
Key Responsibilities:
Perform comprehensive mental health assessments and ongoing evaluations for assigned patients Administer medications and treatments safely as prescribed by attending psychiatrists Implement individualized care plans, providing support, education, and counseling to patients and families Monitor for changes in mental or physical status, intervening promptly when needed Document all aspects of patient care according to regulatory and facility standards Support crisis stabilization and de-escalation activities using therapeutic techniques Facilitate group and individual patient interactions as part of therapeutic programming Promote a safe, respectful environment in accordance with psychiatric best practices As a valued member of the behavioral health care team, you will directly impact patient recovery and wellbeing.
