Iberia Medical Center (IMC) in New Iberia, LA is looking for team members who will help advance our vision to be the premier hospital of choice for patients, physicians and employees. IMC is currently hiring a Registered Nurse for our Medical Surgical Unit (Med Surg) , who under the general supervision of the Unit Director and with the authority of the Chief Nursing Officer, will apply nursing process (assessment, planning, intervention and evaluation) in caring for patients. Effectively interact with patient, significant others, and other heath team members. Demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to provide care based on physical, psycho/social, education, safety and related criteria for the newborn, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric population.
EDUCATION
Graduate of state approved RN School of Nursing.
TRAINING/EXPERIENCE
Previous experience preferred, but not required.
JOB KNOWLEDGE
Basic knowledge of nursing process and principles Basic knowledge of biology and chemistry. Basic knowledge of anatomy and physiology. Thorough knowledge of nursing procedures. Ability to communicate effectively with other team members.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Assesses, collaborates and coordinates in planning of patient’s discharge needs and readiness for discharge. Participates in departmental and hospital improvement plan. Functions as a positive role model for peers and promotes a professional image of Iberia Medical Center. Maintains confidentiality, security, and integrity of patient and organizational data Consistently lives by Iberia Medical Center’s Standards of Performance
