Pay & Benefits:
Pay rate: $53.60 per hour Pay package discussed upon application Weekly Pay Schedule via Direct Deposit Comprehensive Medical Benefits (W-2) Robust Referral Bonus Program Licensure, Certification, Travel, and other reimbursements when applicable Paid sick time in accordance with applicable laws
What You'll Do:
Provide high-quality nursing care to PICU patients, including those with MS, DKA, Sepsis, Respiratory Failure, and postoperative spinal surgeries or neuro cases Manage patient vitals, titrate medications such as pressors, insulin, heparin, and sedation agents Collect peripheral blood samples and manage central lines as needed Utilize Meditech Expanse EMR for documentation and patient management Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including hospitalists, intensivists, RT, and resource nurses Follow hospital protocols for patient safety, medication administration, and documentation Support float capabilities to Adult ICU or Med/Tele, if experienced and approved
What You Need:
Valid Louisiana RN license or equivalent At least 2 years PICU experience
Certification:
BLS, ACLS, PALS
; NRP preferred Proficiency in PIV, CVL, telemetry, wound care, drains, and wound vacs Ability to titrate medications and work in a fast-paced ICU environment Strong critical thinking and teamwork skills About the
Assignment:
Join a compassionate and family-oriented unit known for being traveler-friendly. You'll receive thorough orientation followed by two shifts on the unit to ensure you're set up for success. The facility offers a supportive environment with a focus on quality care, and the unit operates 24/7, with intensivists available around the clock. The shift includes working 4 days one week and 3 days the next, with rotations for holidays and every other weekend off.
