Position Summary Business Health Partners is seeking a compassionate, motivated, and highly skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Occupational Health team. The RN is responsible for delivering high-quality patient care in a fast-paced occupational medicine environment. This position requires strong clinical judgment, exceptional communication skills, and the ability to work independently while collaborating with providers and interdisciplinary team members. The ideal candidate is professional, adaptable, detail-oriented, and committed to providing outstanding patient care and customer service. Essential Responsibilities Patient Care Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care using the nursing process. Obtain and document complete patient histories, assessments, and vital signs. Monitor patient conditions and respond appropriately to changes. Administer medications, injections, immunizations, IV therapy, and treatments as ordered by the provider. Perform occupational health procedures according to established clinical protocols. Assist providers with examinations, procedures, and emergency care. Recognize and respond appropriately during medical emergencies. Documentation & Compliance Maintain accurate, timely, and complete electronic medical records. Document patient assessments, treatments, education, and outcomes. Ensure compliance with OSHA, HIPAA, state nursing regulations, and company policies. Accurately process provider orders and clinical documentation. Communication & Collaboration Communicate effectively with physicians, advanced practice providers, employers, patients, and coworkers. Collaborate with the healthcare team to coordinate quality patient care. Provide patient education regarding treatment plans, medications, injury prevention, and follow-up care. Deliver concise patient reports during shift changes and care transitions. Clinic Operations Maintain a safe, clean, and organized clinical environment. Ensure exam rooms, medical supplies, and equipment are stocked and properly maintained. Utilize supplies responsibly while maintaining quality patient care. Operate medical equipment safely and according to manufacturer guidelines. Support daily clinic operations and assist with workflow as needed. Professional Responsibilities Maintain current nursing licensure and required certifications. Complete all mandatory annual education and competency requirements. Demonstrate professionalism, accountability, integrity, and respect in all interactions. Adhere to attendance standards and company policies. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and continuing professional development. Qualifications Required Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing. Current unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in Louisiana and/or Texas. Current BLS Certification (or ability to obtain upon hire). Knowledge of the nursing process and evidence-based clinical practice. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Strong organizational and multitasking abilities. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Preferred Occupational Health, Emergency Department, Urgent Care, Family Practice, or Industrial Medicine experience. DOT Medical Examiner Assistant experience. COHC (Certified Occupational Hearing Conservationist) certification. Experience with electronic medical records (EMR). ACLS certification. Frequently stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, and reach. Occasionally lift, move, or assist patients in accordance with safe patient handling guidelines. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation. Manual dexterity sufficient to perform clinical procedures. Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing. Visual acuity sufficient to perform patient assessments, administer medications, and operate medical equipment. Work Environment This position is performed in a fast-paced occupational medicine clinic serving industrial and corporate clients. Employees may be exposed to bloodborne pathogens, infectious diseases, chemicals, and other occupational hazards.
