This highly specialized unit cares for patients undergoing:

• Liver and kidney transplants
• Urology procedures
• Colorectal surgeries
• Bariatric surgeriesIn this role, you will play a key part in advancing clinical excellence by supporting education, competency, and professional development for nursing staff caring for complex surgical and transplant patients.

Job Description:

Position OverviewThe Unit-Based Nurse Educator provides dedicated education and competency support for the 6 Central Transplant Unit.

In this role, you will partner with:

• Nursing leadership
• Physicians
• Interdisciplinary teamsYou will support:
• Unit-based orientation
• Ongoing education and competency validation
• Regulatory compliance and quality initiativesYou will also serve as a clinical and educational resource for frontline nursing staff.

What You'll Do

• Facilitate orientation for new transplant unit nursing staff
• Coordinate and maintain annual education requirements, including regulatory and competency-based training
• Provide education related to transplant care and advanced surgical recovery
• Support competency validation and ongoing clinical skill development
• Collaborate with leadership to support quality, safety, and performance improvement initiatives
• Serve as a clinical resource for evidence-based practice
• Promote professional growth and a culture of continuous learning
• Provide flexibility for occasional nights and weekends to meet unit needs

What You'll NeedRequired:

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
• Active Registered Nurse license from the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Nursing
• Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
• Minimum of 3 years of cardiac specialty nursing experience

Preferred:

• 1 to 3 years of experience in education, training, or staff developmentClinical expertise:
