Thank you for considering employment in the Georgetown Public Schools as a substitute Nurse. We are current hiring for substitute nurses.
Unique opportunity to work with children and teenagers in the school setting. Georgetown Public Schools (GPS) has two schools - Georgetown Middle/High School and Penn Brook Elementary School. Make a difference in students lives and learn about an exciting career in school health! In some instances, Substitute Nurses will work alongside a FT nurse. Orientation is provided and there is ongoing support from FT nurses and Lead Nurse.
In the absence of the School Nurse, the Substitute Nurse will be responsible for direct and indirect care given to students in compliance with school district policies, professional standards of practice, physicians orders, and the Individual Health Plan.

JOB DESCRIPTION
Substitutes may be assigned daily or in advance for scheduled substitutionsFulfills School Nurse responsibilities during the building nurse's absenceProvide routine medical care and dispense medicationProvide first aid treatment to students for injuriesInterpret the health status of students to parents &/ school personnelNotify parents of illness and accidents and fill out appropriate accident formKeep daily electronic log of students seen in health room (SNAP EMR)JOBREQUIREMENTS
Citizenship, residency or work visa requiredMA Registered Nurse Licensing requiredCPR certification requiredDESE license preferred (or in progress)At least 1 year of relevant experience preferred (public health, community health, school health, or pediatric nursing)Effective interpersonal/communication/organizational skillsHiring is subject to satisfactory CORI and SAFIS Background Checks per 603 CMR 51Please apply on School Spring OR in person at: Superintendent's Office, 51 North Street, GeorgetownMA 01833COMPENSATION
