Kids in Action
- Program Nurse
(2:00 pm - 6:00 pm)
Job Summary:
Kids In Action is the extended day program for the Elementary Schools in the Town of Hingham. The Kids In Action program nurse will spend time at each location (Foster, South, East and Plymouth River Elementary School) during the week administering medication and administering medical treatment as needed/required.
Responsibilities:
Provide first aid and emergency care, administer medication and/treatment, when necessary.
Contact parents in the event of injury or illness. Receive rescue medications and Consent and Action Plans from parents.
Write up injury reports as necessary and notify parents/caregivers. Maintain appropriate medical records. Collaborate with the Team Leader regarding students with allergies and/or asthma. Collaborate with Team Leaders to maintain first aid and medical supplies. Update Allergy Lists monthly
All other duties as requested by the Kids In Action Director
Required Qualifications:
- Licensure to practice as a registered nurse in Massachusetts
- Current CPR certification
- Demonstrates strong oral and written communication skills
- Experience in community health and student health
- Ability to use a clinical approach to decision making and a systematic approach to problem solving.
