Position Summary The Clinical Nurse I provide direct nursing care to pediatric patients and families in an ambulatory care setting while supporting providers in delivering safe, efficient, and family-centered care. Reporting to the Clinical Nurse Supervisor (Head Nurse), this role performs patient assessment, clinical procedures, patient education, care coordination, and documentation in accordance with PHCA policies and evidence-based nursing practice. Working with increasing independence, the Clinical Nurse I apply sound clinical judgment, effective communication, and pediatric nursing knowledge to support daily clinical operations while recognizing situations requiring consultation or escalation. Key Responsibilities

• Performs nursing assessments including vital signs, health history review, medication reconciliation, allergies, and patient concerns within scope of licensure.
• Documents patient care accurately and timely within the electronic medical record (Epic).
• Recognizes changes in patient condition and communicates concerns appropriately to providers and clinical leadership.
• Administers immunizations, medications, and treatments according to provider orders, applicable regulations, scope of practice, and PHCA protocols.
• Assists providers with examinations, procedures, and clinical interventions.
• Performs clinical procedures including point-of-care testing, specimen collection, EKGs, screenings, and other services appropriate to training and scope of practice.
• Provides patient and family education regarding diagnoses, medications, treatments, immunizations, and follow-up care.
• Supports care coordination activities including referrals, follow-up needs, and communication with families.
• Maintains exam rooms, clinical equipment, and supplies to support safe and efficient patient care.
• Follows infection prevention, patient safety, and regulatory compliance standards.
• Participates in vaccine management activities including storage, handling, documentation, and inventory processes.
• Responds appropriately to urgent clinical situations and office-based emergencies.
• Collaborates with providers, Clinical Nurse Supervisor (Head Nurse), Medical Assistants, Triage Nurses, and administrative teams to support effective patient flow.
• Maintains patient confidentiality and complies with HIPAA requirements.
• Participates in staff meetings, clinical education, competency activities, and quality improvement initiatives.
• Performs other duties as assigned in support of patient care and clinical operations. Minimum Qualifications Education
• Graduate of an accredited Registered Nursing (RN) or Licensed Practical Nursing (LPN) program required. Licensure
• Current Massachusetts Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in good standing required.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required. Experience
• Pediatric and/or ambulatory care experience preferred.
• Knowledge of nursing principles, clinical procedures, medication administration, and infection prevention practices.
• Proficiency with electronic medical record documentation (Epic preferred).

Base pay offer is determined based on skills, experience, education, certifications, and a variety of other job-related factors. The posted pay range reflects the expected range for this role; actual offers may vary within that range based on individual qualifications and organizational needs.
