New England Center for Children (NECC) is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Health Services team as an Adult Services Nurse . This is an opportunity to use your clinical expertise, nursing judgment, and knowledge of Massachusetts DDS and MAP requirements to make a meaningful difference in the health and well-being of the adults we serve. The Adult Services Nurse works independently while collaborating closely with Adult Services leadership, clinical teams, families, healthcare providers, and other members of the Health Services Department. The ideal candidate is a confident nurse with strong health assessment skills who enjoys building relationships, solving problems, educating others, and advocating for the health of the individuals we support. The Adult Services Nurse reports to the Director of Health Services and will cross-train in Occupational Health and Residential Primary Care nursing to provide vacation and other coverage as needed.

What You Will Be Doing:

Provide Clinical Care & Health Management Provide primary healthcare management for adults in Adult Services. Perform and participate in advanced health assessments for adults with health concerns and changing medical needs. Serve as a liaison between Adult Services staff, families, and outside healthcare providers. Collaborate with NPs, PCPs, specialists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate appropriate care. Oversee and participate in the coordination of routine and specialty medical appointments with program teams and families. Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding pertinent health concerns, treatment plans, medications, and updates. Provide education to counselors, staff, and families regarding treatments, medications, and health-related needs. Maintain a high level of clinical knowledge and judgment when addressing health issues. Ensure Quality, Safety & Regulatory Compliance Develop, implement, revise, and maintain Adult Services health policies and procedures in accordance with Massachusetts regulations, DDS, MAP, NECC standards, and applicable certifying agencies. Stay current with changes to Massachusetts DDS, MAP, and other applicable healthcare regulations and requirements. Provide oversight of the medication delivery system in accordance with Massachusetts DPH, DDS, and MAP guidelines. Monitor staff medication administration practices and ensure compliance with MAP policies. Oversee adult health records and ensure health information is accurate, current, and maintained according to State and NECC requirements. Maintain knowledge of Massachusetts infectious disease prevention and control guidelines and assist with infectious disease management. Participate in supply and medication inventory, ordering, and other department activities. Educate, Collaborate & Lead Provide health education and training to Adult Services staff. Work collaboratively with Clinical, Administrative, Executive, and Adult Services teams. Participate in weekly Health Services Department meetings and other team meetings as needed. Meet regularly with the Director of Health Services for supervision and support. Coordinate and participate in regular meetings with the Adult Services Program Director and Program Specialist. Contribute to the development and improvement of Health Services policies and procedures. Assist with coverage for other nursing areas, including Occupational Health and Residential Primary Care, during vacation or other staffing needs. Take on additional responsibilities as needed to support the smooth and effective operation of the Health Services Department.

What You Will Need:

Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing in Massachusetts. Minimum of an Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN). Current BLS certification for Adults, Children, and Infants through the American Red Cross or American Heart Association. Instructor CPR Certification from the American Red Cross covering Basic CPR, AED, and First Aid, or the ability to obtain certification after hire. Successful completion of required NECC orientation and training, including CALM, Driver's Training, and Health Services courses. Experience working independently and managing multiple clinical priorities. Strong health assessment and clinical decision-making skills. Preferred knowledge of Massachusetts DDS and MAP policies and requirements. Basic computer proficiency
