Principal Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions•) : Providing telephone triage to patients and their families Reviewing and reconciling list of medications with patients Initiating prescription refill requests for provider review and processing Prescription management tasks including processing prior authorizations Communication with patients and families regarding lab results, medication administration, and home care advice Providing patient education regarding common childhood illnesses, medications, expected courses of treatment and general medical advice Patient care follow-up for ER or Specialist visits Documenting in medical record efficiently and accurately Performing in-house CLIA-waived testing procedures for strep throat, COVID, flu and processing urine samples Using proper techniques and procedures for hazardous waste disposal, universal precautions and body mechanics Monitoring and stocking supplies under the direction of the Nurse Manager Maintaining medical equipment and office equipment Other duties as assigned by need.
