4 days/10 hr Shifts Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Acute Dialysis Nurse to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide specialized nursing care to patients undergoing dialysis treatment in an acute care setting. This role requires a strong background in critical care, infection control, and patient assessment, along with proficiency in EMR/EHR systems and medical documentation. The Acute Dialysis Nurse will collaborate closely with physicians, technicians, and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes and adherence to healthcare standards such as HIPAA and NCQA. Responsibilities Administer dialysis treatments including hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis while maintaining aseptic technique and infection control protocols. Monitor patient vital signs, assess physiological responses, and evaluate patient condition throughout treatment sessions. Prepare patients for procedures by performing physical examinations, obtaining medical history, and explaining treatment plans. Manage IV infusions, medication administration, and catheter care with precision and adherence to safety standards. Conduct diagnostic evaluations, specimen collection, and processing as required for comprehensive patient assessment. Maintain detailed medical records using EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, or Athenahealth, ensuring accuracy and compliance with HIPAA regulations. Educate patients on dialysis procedures, post-treatment care, and lifestyle modifications to improve health outcomes. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including physicians specializing in nephrology, infectious disease care, geriatrics, or trauma medicine to develop individualized care plans. Respond promptly to acute pain management needs or emergencies such as airway management or ventilator support within the scope of practice. Participate in discharge planning, case management, and follow-up care coordination for long-term or post-acute patients. Qualifications Valid nursing license with current registration; experience in acute care settings preferred. ACLS Certification 2yrs experience in Acute Care in Dialysis and Medical Surgical Pass background screening
Pay:
From $65.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
