The Area Delegating Nurse (Area DN) provides clinical support, education, and guidance to Delegating Nurses and clinical teams across assigned Maryland Assisted Living communities. This role partners with community leadership to strengthen clinical operations, promote regulatory compliance, and maintain high standards of resident care. The Area DN is a support and resource position and does not replace the community Delegating Nurse's responsibilities or serve as the Regional Clinical leader. Key Responsibilities Provide ongoing support, coaching, and education to community Delegating Nurses and clinical teams. Assist with clinical operations, nursing delegation, medication management, resident assessments, service plans, and clinical documentation. Conduct routine clinical audits and reviews to identify regulatory or resident-care risks and support timely corrective action. Maintain knowledge of Maryland COMAR Assisted Living regulations and Maryland Board of Nursing delegation requirements. Support communities with regulatory survey preparation, plans of correction, and follow-up monitoring. Review trends involving falls, medication errors, hospital transfers, wounds, infections, and other significant clinical events. Assist with onboarding and training of Delegating Nurses, nurses, medication technicians, and care team members. Support proper utilization of the EHR and consistent clinical documentation practices. Partner with Executive Directors, community DNs, Regional Operations, and Regional Clinical leadership to address identified clinical needs. Provide additional onsite clinical support during leadership transitions, regulatory activity, or periods of increased community need. Escalate significant resident-safety, clinical, or regulatory concerns to appropriate leadership. Travel regularly between assigned Maryland communities. Qualifications Current Maryland Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing. Meets Maryland requirements to function as a Delegating Nurse. Maryland Assisted Living and Delegating Nurse experience strongly preferred. Strong knowledge of COMAR, nursing delegation, medication management, assessments, service plans, and clinical documentation. Strong leadership, communication, coaching, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Ability to effectively support multiple communities while maintaining appropriate community-level accountability.
Pay:
$125,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
