Job Description
Job Overview Capital Women's Care provides total women's healthcare at the highest medical and ethical standards. This is a great opportunity to join one of the best OB/GYN practices in the area and a dynamic team. Capital Women's Care is a 150+ group of OB/GYNs located throughout Greater Washington, DC, Northern Virginia and Maryland. The OB/GYN Triage Nurse serves as a key clinical liaison between patients and providers, supporting high-quality, compassionate care across our women's health practice. This role is responsible for triaging patient concerns, coordinating care, and providing clinical guidance in collaboration with providers. The Triage Nurse plays an essential role in patient communication, care coordination, and documentation while ensuring a positive patient experience. Responsibilities Perform initial clinical assessments to evaluate patient concerns and determine urgency of care. Collaborate closely with providers to support timely and appropriate clinical interventions. Provide clinical guidance, education, and follow-up to patients via phone and patient portal. Maintain accurate, thorough, and timely documentation in the electronic health record (EHR). Support continuity of care through effective communication and care coordination.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Strong knowledge of medical terminology. Knowledge of patient care techniques, administering injections, drawing blood, taking vitals and performing basic lab tests. Knowledge of sterilization processes. Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Customer service skills in handling patient questions and concerns with professionalism, empathy and patience. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to handle unexpected situations calmly and problem-solving patient concerns or conflicts. Ability to collaborate in a team environment.Requirements Education:
Registered Nurse (RN) license required. Minimum of three (3) years of nursing experience in an obstetrics/gynecology setting (hospital or outpatient office). Work Schedule Monday - Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pmIn-person Equal Opportunity Employment:
