Home and Community-Based Pediatric Nursing Services Overview Kays Healthcare LLC is seeking a compassionate and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to provide skilled nursing services to pediatric clients in the home and community setting. The RN will provide individualized nursing care in accordance with the client's physician orders and Plan of Care and under the supervision of the RN Supervisor. The RN will work closely with families, caregivers, physicians, and other members of the healthcare team to promote the child's safety, health, and well-being while supporting continuity of care in the home. Minimum Requirements The Registered Nurse must: Be a graduate of an accredited nursing program. Hold a current, active, and unrestricted Registered Nurse license issued by the Maryland Board of Nursing . Have a minimum of three (3) years of clinical nursing experience, including at least one (1) year of direct pediatric care experience within the past three (3) years . Maintain current CPR/BLS certification and all competencies required for assigned pediatric services. Demonstrate knowledge of pediatric nursing, home-based nursing practices, infection prevention, patient safety, and emergency procedures. Demonstrate knowledge of HIPAA requirements and maintain client confidentiality. Be able to safely perform the skilled nursing procedures required by the assigned client's Plan of Care. Key Responsibilities Provide direct skilled nursing care to pediatric clients in accordance with physician orders, the Plan of Care, agency policies, and applicable standards of nursing practice. Perform nursing assessments and ongoing evaluations and promptly identify and report significant changes in the client's condition. Implement physician orders and nursing interventions safely and appropriately. Administer prescribed medications, treatments, enteral feedings, and other therapies within the RN's scope of practice and documented competencies. Provide skilled care for clients requiring services such as tracheostomy care, ventilator support, enteral feeding/G-tube care, oxygen therapy, pulse oximetry, seizure precautions, medication administration, and other medically necessary pediatric nursing interventions , when ordered and when the nurse has demonstrated competency. Monitor the client's response to medications, treatments, therapies, and medical equipment and report concerns or changes in condition promptly. Recognize medical emergencies, initiate appropriate nursing interventions, and follow the client's emergency plan and agency emergency procedures. Maintain infection prevention, standard precautions, safety, and appropriate medical equipment practices in the home. Accurately and timely document assessments, nursing interventions, medications, treatments, client responses, and changes in condition. Educate and support parents and caregivers regarding the child's Plan of Care, medications, treatments, equipment, safety precautions, and signs or symptoms that should be reported. Communicate and coordinate care with the RN Supervisor, physicians, families/caregivers, and other members of the interdisciplinary healthcare team. Participate in care conferences, reassessments, quality improvement activities, training, competency validation, and other agency requirements. Maintain professional boundaries and protect the dignity, privacy, rights, and confidentiality of every client. Support continuity of care, transition planning, and discharge planning as appropriate. Preferred Skills and Experience Experience providing direct care to medically complex pediatric clients is strongly preferred, particularly children requiring tracheostomy care, ventilator support, enteral feeding, seizure management, oxygen therapy, or other skilled nursing interventions. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong pediatric assessment skills, sound clinical judgment, effective communication with children and families, accurate clinical documentation, reliability, and the ability to respond appropriately to changes in a child's condition.
