Travel Emergency Room ed Nurse (RN) - 13-Week Contract in La Plata, Maryland for a travel ER nursing job in La Plata, Maryland, caring for patients of all ages on a fast-paced Emergency Department night shift. Department Volume:
Approximately 130 visits per day with 47 treatment rooms
Weekend Requirement:
Every other weekend
Holiday Requirement:
Holidays as scheduled
Floating:
May be required within the nurse's specialty and scope of practice
On-Call:
No pre-scheduled on-call requirement Emergency Room RN Job Requirements At least 2 years of Emergency Department RN experience preferred; strong candidates with at least 1 year may be considered Active Maryland or Compact RN license at the time of submission Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications from the American Heart Association Current NIHSS and CPI certifications Community hospital experience required Strong emergency nursing skills and the ability to care for complex, rapidly changing patient conditions Experience with Epic or another electronic health record system preferred Ability to work nights, weekends, holidays, and within a flexible travel nursing assignment schedule Emergency Department RN Responsibilities Perform rapid assessments, triage, stabilization, treatment, and ongoing reassessment of emergency patients Provide emergency nursing care for patients with medical, traumatic, behavioral health, neurologic, respiratory, cardiac, and pediatric emergencies Manage patients requiring emergency medications, IV vasopressors, blood products, procedural sedation, and continuous monitoring Recognize and respond to dysrhythmias, stroke symptoms, STEMI, respiratory failure, sepsis, overdose, trauma, and multisystem conditions Perform and support emergency procedures, including IV access, phlebotomy, 12-lead ECGs, chest tube management, central line care, splinting, and care of ventilated patients Maintain accurate clinical documentation and communicate effectively with providers, patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members Promote patient safety through infection prevention, isolation precautions, behavioral health interventions, and appropriate escalation of care Float within the nurse's competency and specialty scope as Emergency Department needs require to join this Maryland travel nursing assignment and bring your Emergency Room RN expertise to a high-volume Emergency Department in La Plata.
