Job Description
- Corrections Please note: We are seeking Registered Nurses (RNs) who are committed to providing care for underserved incarcerated individuals in the Maryland Department of Corrections System.
Compensation & Schedule:
$58.00 per hour with shift differentials 4AM-5:30PM Location:
Eastern Correctional Institution- Westover, MD Work performed on-site Responsibilities of the Registered Nurse (RN)
- Corrections Assess, plan, and evaluate individualized treatment programs in collaboration with healthcare providers and correctional staff Deliver nursing care within the Health Care Unit and housing units as needed Administer medications and carry out physician-ordered treatments and interventions Monitor, assess, and document patient conditions, responses, and outcomes accurately Take and interpret vital signs (temperature, pulse, respiration, blood pressure) Provide wound care, including dressing changes Respond to medical emergencies and provide appropriate clinical interventions Maintain strict patient confidentiality and uphold dignity at all times Utilize available facility resources for treatment and consultation Requirements of the Registered Nurse (RN)•Corrections Current state RN license Current CPR certification (American Heart Association preferred) Graduate of an accredited nursing program Ability to pass a DPSCS background check and drug screen Willingness to travel and work on-site with provided lodging Comfortable working in a correctional healthcare environment This role is ideal for nurses looking to make a meaningful impact while gaining travel experience and serving a highly underserved population in a structured clinical environment.
