A Registered Nurse provides medical care and treatment, educates patients about their conditions, and provides emotional support to patients and families. Works in hospitals, schools, clinics or community health centers. Works under the supervision of a physician or other specialist, and serves as the primary point of care for patients in a hospital setting. May specialize in emergency room work, or treatment for a particular condition, or specialize in working with infants, the elderly or other patient groups. May work as an advanced practice specialists and prescribe medications in addition to offering specialty care.
Description Spring Harbor Hospital Nursing Req #: 91216 Per Diem/Evenings (As Needed) Spring Harbor Hospital is currently seeking a Per Diem House Supervisor (RN) - Behavioral Health to assume clinical and administrative responsibility for the hospital during specific assigned hours. As the senior leader on duty, the House Supervisor allocates resources of the hospital and directs the care of patients as an extension of the senior leadership team and safety officer. Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
Education:
Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing required; BSN preferred.
License/Certifications:
Current applicable state(s) license as a Registered Professional Nurse required. Current BLS certification required or must obtain within 30 days of start date. Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Certification RN-BC preferred.
Experience:
Five years of relevant experience preferred, experience in psychiatric nursing preferred. One year experience of medical surgical clinical experience preferred.
