Job Description Sign-On Bonus Eligible As a Registered Nurse in our Observation/Short Stay Unit, you'll deliver compassionate, efficient care to patients requiring brief hospitalization and close monitoring. Using Relationship-Based Care principles, you'll build strong connections with patients, families, and the care team while managing rapid patient flow and dynamic clinical situations.
Key Responsibilities:
Rapid Assessment & Monitoring:
Conduct thorough initial assessments and continuous observation of patients, quickly identifying changes in condition and responding with clinical judgment appropriate to the short-stay setting.
Efficient Care Planning:
Develop and implement individualized care plans that prioritize timely diagnosis, treatment, and safe discharge within the observation timeframe.
Direct Patient Care:
Provide hands-on nursing care, administer medications and treatments, and educate patients and families on discharge instructions and follow-up care.
Team Leadership & Collaboration:
Supervise and coordinate with healthcare team members, communicate effectively with physicians and interdisciplinary staff, and contribute to a cohesive care environment.
Evidence-Based Practice:
Apply current clinical evidence and best practices to optimize patient outcomes and maintain quality standards specific to observation care.
Operational Support:
Participate in quality improvement initiatives, special projects, and other duties as assigned to support unit operations. Qualifications

BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted. Registered Nurse credentialed from the Michigan Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required. Current ACLS or obtain within six (6) months.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR Required professional licensure at time of hire.
