Job Description

GENERAL SUMMARY

Provides leadership in the coordination and delivery of quality compassionate patient care.

Utilizes the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation, to provide, delegate, supervise and document care and teaching of patients and family.

Effectively communicates pertinent patient/family information to health care team.

Participates in finding solutions for variances from patient goals and ensures implementation of solutions.

Acts as a patient advocate while utilizing the nursing process to plan, deliver, and evaluate goal focused, individualized, safe, age specific care for all patients including those with complex pathophysiological needs and/or psychosocial needs.

UNIT DESCRIPTION

3C is a 12 bed cardiac step down unit staffing 4 RNs (3:1) and 1-2 Nas (2 on days, one on nights). Main focus is cardiac patients requiring a stepdown level of care (NSTEMI requiring

PCI, CHF

requiring inotrope therapy, antiarrhythmic drips, etc.) but also takes any medical/surgical overflow requiring step down level of care (except stroke). Qualifications

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREDBSN

preferred.

Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.

Clinical knowledge and analytical abilities necessary to formulate effective nursing care plans.

Ability to perform a wide variety of professional nursing services.

Ability to effectively communicate with patients, families, and hospital personnel.

CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES

REQUIREDCurrent licensure by the Michigan State Board of Nursing.
