In this role, you will manage high-volume prescription refill requests using established clinical protocols, evaluate lab and diagnostic results, coordinate telephone patient care, and manage Epic InBasket queues within a premier regional healthcare system.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Medication Refill Protocol Management:
Review, evaluate, and process high-volume prescription refill requests using physician-approved standing orders and clinical protocols in Epic.
Telephone Care & Triage:
Handle incoming patient calls and digital inquiries, address medication questions, evaluate patient concerns, and follow up on treatment compliance.
Diagnostic & Results Follow-Up:
Review lab, imaging, and diagnostic results with ordering providers and communicate instructions, care plans, and health education to patients via phone or secure messaging.
Provider & Pharmacy Liaison:
Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers (APPs), and retail/specialty pharmacies to clarify dosages, coordinate prior authorizations, and resolve fill discrepancies.
Virtual Education & Support:
Deliver individualized telephonic patient education (e.g., medication adherence, chronic condition management, insulin guidance) and coordinate care plans with multidisciplinary teams.
InBasket Management & EMR Documentation:
Manage Epic InBasket queues, support e-visits and virtual care workflows, and maintain precise, audit-level clinical documentation.
Quality & Patient Advocacy:
Advocate for patient needs while adhering to strict HIPAA compliance and participating in workflow optimization efforts.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
Licensure:
Active, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in Minnesota.
Certifications:
Active Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (AHA or American Red Cross).
Clinical Experience:
Minimum of 2 years of professional RN experience (ambulatory, outpatient clinic, or medical-surgical background strongly preferred).
EHR Expertise:
Minimum of 1 year of hands-on experience navigating and documenting within Epic (including InBasket management).
