1 Description American Traveler is seeking a Registered Nurse for a Labor and Delivery position requiring 2 years of L&D and post-partum experience with NRP certification for a night shift assignment in Minnesota. Details Work in the Mother Baby Center, covering both Labor and Delivery and post-partum units Average daily census of 8 deliveries per day and 15 post-partum patients per day Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours (1900-0730) Required to work every other weekend No on-call responsibilities Will float within the hospital or to nearby affiliate hospitals as needed Uses Epic (Excellian) charting system Requirements Active MN RN license required (pending license accepted) Current BLS and NRP certifications required; AWHONN Advanced, AWHONN Intermediate, and FHM certifications preferred Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery experience with post-partum experience required Sterile vaginal exam experience required Fetal monitoring skills required, including external fetal monitoring, internal fetal monitoring, IUPC placement and calibration, and recognition/treatment of abnormal fetal heart rate patterns Experience administering Pitocin (oxytocin) required Experience managing and administering epidural anesthesia required Pain management and nitrous oxide skills preferred Minimum one supervisor reference required for consideration Additional Information Provide nursing care across both labor and post-partum settings within the Mother Baby Center Teaching hospital and Level 2 Trauma Center setting with 258 staffed beds Scrubs provided by the unit No parking fees at this facility First-time travelers are welcome to apply Must reside at least 100 miles from the facility to be considered RTO ideally limited to no more than 5 days Candidates must be gone at least 3 months since their last shift worked as a perm staff or per diem employee at this facility
