2 Description American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Mother-Baby/Post Partum role requiring 2 years of postpartum experience and an active MN RN license. Details Work in the Mother-Baby / Couplet Care / Post Partum unit of an acute care teaching hospital Level 2 Trauma Center with 258 staffed beds Average daily census of 8 deliveries per day and 15 postpartum patients per day 3x12 Day (0700-1930) or Night (1900-0730) shift schedule Requires working every other weekend No on-call responsibilities Will float within scope to meet facility needs, including to affiliate hospitals nearby Uses Epic (Excellian) charting system Requirements Active MN RN license required (pending license accepted) BLS and NRP certifications required AWHONN Advanced, AWHONN Intermediate, and FHM certifications preferred 2 years of postpartum experience required (L&D with postpartum experience needed) Skills in pain management, epidural anesthesia, and nitrous oxide preferred Experience with Pitocin administration and fetal monitoring, including recognition of abnormal fetal heart rate patterns Experience with external and internal fetal monitoring, IUPC placement and calibration Experience with antepartum care procedures and sterile vaginal exams 1 supervisor reference required for consideration Additional Information Provide direct nursing care to postpartum mother-baby couplets Scrubs provided by the unit No parking fees at this facility First-time travelers are welcome to apply Previous perm staff or per diem employees must have a 3-month gap since their last shift to be eligible RTO should ideally not exceed 5 days Not open to local candidates; must reside at least 100 miles from the facility
