Job Description

Mercy is seeking a SE Weekender Registered Nurse for our Cardiac Progressive Care unit (day shift). In this role, you'll deliver high-acuity cardiac nursing care, including continuous monitoring, rhythm interpretation, and complex medication management. You will collaborate with physicians and an interdisciplinary team to develop and execute individualized care plans, educate patients and families, and support safe transitions of care. Responsibilities Provide comprehensive nursing care to cardiac progressive care patients on weekend day shifts Continuously monitor cardiac status and interpret rhythms, escalating changes promptly Administer medications, IV therapies, and perform ordered procedures safely and accurately Develop, implement, and update individualized patient care plans with the care team Educate patients and families on cardiac conditions, treatments, and discharge plans Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and support staff to optimize patient outcomes Document assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately in the EHRMaintain strict adherence to safety, infection control, and quality standards Participate in handoffs and care transitions to ensure continuity of care Engage in ongoing education and unit-based quality improvement initiatives Required Skills Cardiac patient assessment Telemetry monitoring Cardiac rhythm interpretation IV medication administration Care planning and documentation Use of EHR systems Interdisciplinary care coordination Patient and family education Infection control practices Emergency response skills (BLS/ACLS)
