In this role, you will deliver evidence-based care to adult patients with diverse medical and post-surgical needs, performing assessments, administering medications, and coordinating care with an interdisciplinary team. Responsibilities Deliver high-quality nursing care to adult medical-surgical patients following Mercy standards and evidence-based practices Perform assessments, develop individualized care plans, administer medications, and monitor patient responses Collaborate with physicians, interdisciplinary teams, and families to coordinate and optimize patient care Educate patients and families on conditions, treatments, and discharge plans to support recovery and prevent readmission Document care accurately in the electronic health record and maintain patient safety and infection-control protocols Participate in quality improvement, shared governance, and professional development initiatives within the unit Required Skills Adult medical-surgical nursing Patient assessment and triage IV therapy and medication administration Telemetry and vital sign monitoring Wound care and post-surgical management Electronic Health Record (EHR) documentation Care planning and coordination Patient and family education Infection prevention and control Emergency response and de-escalation
