Mercy is seeking an RN MedSurg to deliver compassionate, evidence-based care on a fast-paced medical-surgical unit. You'll assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care, coordinate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams, and educate patients and families. Responsibilities include administering medications, monitoring conditions, maintaining accurate documentation, and supporting safe discharges. Responsibilities Provide comprehensive medical-surgical nursing care to diverse adult patient populations. Conduct thorough patient assessments and develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans. Administer medications and treatments safely, including IV therapy, per provider orders and protocols. Monitor, interpret, and document patient status, vital signs, labs, and telemetry as indicated. Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate high-quality care. Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatments, medications, and discharge plans. Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the Electronic Health Record (EHR). Follow infection control, safety, and quality standards to ensure a safe care environment. Support safe discharge planning and transitions of care. Participate in ongoing education, competency validation, and quality improvement initiatives.
