Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Night Nurse to provide exceptional patient care during overnight hours in a dynamic healthcare environment. As a Night Nurse, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety, comfort, and well-being of patients across various care settings, including acute care, long-term care, and specialized units. Responsibilities Conduct thorough patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and monitoring of symptoms to identify changes in condition. Administer medications and injections accurately following prescribed protocols, including IV infusions and medication documentation in electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic or Cerner. Manage airway maintenance with aseptic technique and ventilator support when necessary, ensuring patient safety during critical moments. Provide specialized care for diverse populations, including geriatrics, pediatrics, patients with developmental disabilities, and those requiring memory or dementia care. Respond promptly to emergency situations such as acute pain episodes or trauma incidents by implementing appropriate triage and intervention procedures aligned with Level I Trauma Center standards. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams on discharge planning, case management, and long-term care strategies to optimize patient recovery pathways. Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations and ensure meticulous medical documentation of all patient interactions and treatments. Qualifications Valid nursing license with current registration; experience working in hospital settings such as ICU, emergency room, or trauma centers is highly desirable. Proven expertise in critical care procedures including cardiac catheterization, dialysis management, ostomy care, and infection control practices. Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems like Epic or Cerner for accurate medical records management. Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, ICD coding (ICD-9/10), CPT coding, and laboratory procedures. Experience providing compassionate care across various specialties such as geriatrics, behavioral health, hospice & palliative medicine, or pediatric nursing. Ability to perform complex tasks including suturing, phlebotomy, tube feeding management, and basic life support (BLS). Excellent assessment skills coupled with the ability to work independently during night shifts while maintaining high standards of patient safety and quality care.
