The position involves working as a district nurse and floating to various buildings, ensuring all students receive quality care where and when its needed most.
Key Qualifications & Desired Experience:
Active RN license current in the state of Missouri Experience in a school nursing or pediatric healthcare setting preferred Strong ability to handle multiple, daily G-tube feedings safely Proficiency with Hoyer lifts and providing hygienic care, including diapering for multiple students Skilled in managing daily and emergency medication administration Comfortable responding to and managing seizures and other urgent student health needs Effective communicator, able to collaborate closely with educational staff and families Demonstrates a positive, flexible, and teamwork-oriented attitude Passionate about working with students who have special needs, such as autism or complex medical disabilities
Responsibilities:
Provide daily nursing care across the districts schools, traveling as needed Execute physician-ordered procedures, including G-tube feedings, and operate mobility/lift devices safely Administer and document student medications efficiently Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and parents to develop care plans for students with individualized healthcare needs Respond swiftly and effectively to health emergencies Deliver compassionate support and clear guidance to students with medical or developmental challenges This contract position offers a unique chance to make a meaningful impact in the lives of children.
